“Hiya, I’m Shelley and I trade as Shelley Bell Celebrant,” she begins. Shelley’s role is all about crafting and conducting ceremonies that are deeply personal, whether it’s a wedding, celebration of life, baby naming, or even a renaming ceremony for someone stepping into their authentic self.
Inclusivity and sustainability are at the heart of everything Shelley does. She proudly welcomes couples of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs – and her neurodiverse perspective means she has a unique way of understanding and connecting with the people she works with.
How It All Began
Like many of the best stories, Shelley’s journey started with a personal experience. When she got married ten years ago, she hadn’t even heard of celebrants – and found herself with what she describes as “a stark, no fun, cookie-cutter ceremony.” That moment inspired her to make sure no one else ever had to settle for the same.
Today, she’s known for creating ceremonies that are full of personality, woven with cultural traditions, and filled with “Wow factor” moments that guests remember long after the last dance.
What Shelley Offers
From the very first discovery call, Shelley’s process is warm, collaborative, and relaxed. She loves to sit down over a cuppa with couples to get a real sense of who they are and what they want. Together, you’ll co-create a script that feels right in every way – no awkward surprises on the day.
On the wedding day itself, Shelley is more than “just” a celebrant. She arrives early, greets guests, coordinates with suppliers, and sometimes even steps in as MC or event planner to keep things running seamlessly. And yes, she’s always up for capturing a cheeky selfie with the couple before slipping away to let the celebrations unfold.

- Think about what you don’t want as much as what you do.
