Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about booking a magician?

Below you’ll find answers to the questions I’m asked most often about weddings, corporate events, trade shows, private parties and close-up magic. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

Booking

How do I book?

Simply get in touch via the contact form, email or phone with your event date, location and a few details about your plans. I’ll check availability, discuss the best option for your event and provide a clear, no-obligation quotation.

Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll stay in touch leading up to the event, discuss timings and logistics, and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Fees depend on the type of event, date, location, number of guests and how long you would like me to perform. Once I know a little about your plans, I can recommend the most suitable option and provide an exact quotation.

I’m based in Harlow, Essex, but regularly perform across London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Suffolk and throughout the UK.

I travel throughout the UK and also perform internationally for corporate events and trade shows. If you send me your venue or postcode, I can confirm availability and any travel requirements.

I work with a trusted team of professional magicians who perform to the same high standards I set for myself. Subject to availability, I may be able to recommend or provide another magician from my team.

Popular Friday and Saturday dates can book many months in advance, particularly during the summer wedding season and around Christmas. If you already know your date, it is worth checking availability as early as possible.

Practical Information

What type of magic do you perform?

I perform modern close-up magic, mind reading and psychological demonstrations. The magic happens right in front of your guests — often in their own hands — creating interactive moments of surprise, laughter and conversation.

My approach is relaxed, friendly and highly interactive. I adapt the performance to the people in front of me rather than delivering the same routine to every group. The aim is not simply to perform tricks, but to help create an atmosphere where guests relax, interact and have something memorable to talk about.

Yes. Close-up magic works well for both small gatherings and large events. For bigger functions I move between groups or tables, and where necessary I can also arrange additional professional magicians so more guests can be entertained.

It depends on the type of event and number of guests. Many bookings are around 90 minutes to two hours, although shorter or longer performances can work better for some events. Once I know your plans, I can recommend the most suitable option.

Yes. My performances are designed primarily for adults but are family-friendly, so younger guests can enjoy the magic too. I adapt the material and presentation to suit the people I’m performing for.

Very little. Close-up magic is performed directly amongst your guests, so there is normally no need for a stage, special lighting or sound equipment. I simply need enough space to move comfortably between groups or tables.

I regularly perform at weddings, corporate events, trade shows, private parties, Christmas parties, restaurants, awards evenings, networking events and other celebrations across the UK.

Yes. I hold full public liability insurance and can provide documentation if required by your venue or event organiser.

Yes, provided the conditions are suitable. Close-up magic can work very well outdoors, although strong wind or rain can make some effects impractical. If the weather is uncertain, having a covered or indoor alternative is always helpful.

Weddings

When is the best time to have a magician at a wedding?

The most popular times are during the drinks reception, while photographs are being taken, between courses during the wedding breakfast, or as evening guests arrive. Each option works differently, so I can recommend the best time based on your schedule, guest numbers and venue.

Corporate Events & Trade Shows

Can you help at trade shows and exhibitions?

Yes. Trade show magic is one of my specialist areas. I use interactive close-up magic to attract visitors, start conversations and help create opportunities for your sales team to engage with potential customers. The performance can also be adapted to incorporate key messages or branding where appropriate.

Yes. I regularly perform at conferences, awards evenings, networking events, Christmas parties, client hospitality events, product launches and company celebrations. Close-up magic works particularly well because it can entertain guests without interrupting the flow of the event.
